Almost 40% of the coffee in the world is produced in Brazil. MTGB is a blend of lots from Minas Gerais. This region accounts for nearly 50% of the coffee grown in Brazil. The relatively flat landscape (500 - 1,200 MASL) across the region gives farmers an option for mechanical harvesting or hand-picking.
After harvest, cherries are laid to dry in thin layers on patios. It is monitored and turned frequently under direct sunlight before being washed clean of the fruit.
