This coffee comes to Gaslight Coffee from the Naga Singage mountain located near the Gersi kebele in Yirgacheffe. Due to its high altitude (1950-2150 masl), the cherries are harvested later in the season. The higher altitude imparts a floral quality and the beans tend to be smaller and denser, contributing to intense sweetness.
After harvesting, cherries are taken to the Aricha washing station, which was revived by Testi Coffee led by Faysel Abdosh in 2018. He recognized a need for a local, high-quality washing station to serve the farming communities. This has resulted in improved traceability. Aricha produces washed and natural coffees, with the recent addition of small batch anaerobic coffees.
We're tasting fruit punch, dried blueberries, brownie and guava.
